She is admitted to the State Bars of Maryland, Pennsylvania, the District of Columbia, as well as the United States District Court for Maryland and the District of Columbia.
Attorney Lawson-Jackson has been practicing law for 14 years. She practiced law for five years at the small law office of Pinckney & Sroufe, P.C. before establishing her solo practice in 1998. In 2000, she brought on an associate, Jacqueline Ogunye-Raphael, who handles family law matters, personal injury, and medical malpractice matters.
Attorney Lawson-Jackson practices primarily in the area of Family Law and civil litigation, and is also a Court appointed Best Interest Attorney for minor children in contested custody cases. Her interest is in providing equal access to justice and thus, the law office takes a considerable amount of pro bono and reduced fee cases, both through the Community Legal Services of Prince George's County, Legal Services of Montgomery County, and from various other outside sources.
Attorney Jackson is also a Board member for Community Legal Services of Prince George's County. In addition to practicing law, Ms. Lawson-Jackson has an unusual interest in health and fitness and writes a monthly column for the Prince George’s County Law Journal on the topic of health and fitness.
